Executive vice- president, SAIC- General Motors Corp
HAVING disposed of its European brands, General Motors is more focused on growth in China – where Julian Blissett is in charge of its biggest joint venture there. Things are going well for SAIC-GM. It operates eight vehicle production plants and four powertrain factories to locally make Buicks, Chevrolets and Cadillacs, reporting sales up 14 per cent in the year to May. Nottingham-born Blissett spent eight years with Nissan in Sunderland. He joined GM in 1996, through its Opel division’s site in Poland.
