Cellerette is tops in in-car entertainment
IF you’ve just taken delivery of your brand-new Rolls-Royce, chances are you’ll want to “entertain and delight your guests” with a bespoke chest for your whisky and cigars. Rolls now has you covered with the Cellarette, a polished aluminium masterpiece to transport and serve drinks and cigars.
There’s a leather-lined bottle holder, while at the opposite end you’ll find a humidor lined in Spanish cedarwood that holds a cigar cutter, lighter and ashtray. You can serve your guests in hand-blown lowball glasses on a tray inlaid with the Spirit of Ecstasy emblem. It costs £40,570, excluding tax, and can be ordered from your Rolls-Royce dealer.
Tyre label revamp gives more detail
EUROPEAN tyres now have new labels that give buyers more information, as well as easier access to it.
They still rate rolling resistance, wet grip and pass-by noise levels, but on a new scale from A to E (noise A-C), plus they have symbols to display snow and ice grip for winter tyres. They also feature a QR code that takes you to a standardised database, allowing you to compare your potential purchase with other options.
The labels will be used on tyres intended for trucks and buses, too.
Motor show in the heart of West End
HEAD into the heart of London for the Regent Street Motor Show, on Saturday 6 November. The show sees the road pedestrianised between Piccadilly and Oxford Circuses.
It will involve vintage and veteran metal right up to the cars of the future, and takes place the day before the London to Brighton Veteran car run, so pre-1905 vehicles will be represented. Entry is totally free; simply turn up.
