Retro reboots
It is good to hear that BMW has set the wheels in motion to bring back the M1 (News, 26 June). This is long overdue. It definitely borrows from the BMW i8 with the gullwing doors and nods to the original with some retained wedge-like features on the chassis. It is just missing one feature: the pop-up headlamps!
My question is, with this retro reboot, will BMW consider bringing back the 2002 or the CSL 3.0 into mass production? There would definitely be a demand if they did!
