The GLB doesn’t seem to respond too keenly to manual gearchanges. A tug of the paddle can leave you waiting, or produce no response at all. Best leave these for towing duties, I reckon.

RICHARD LANE Remember the GLK? Perhaps not, because it wasn’t officially sold in the UK, but it was popular in mainland Europe, partly because of its compact size but chunky, upright design. The GLB is similar in this respect, so will probably sell well.
