NISSAN MICRA TO BECOME RENAULT 5 SIBLING
Nissan will launch an all-electric replacement for the Micra supermini using the same CMF-BEV platform as sibling brand Renault’s reborn 5.
Set to be introduced in 2024, the platform can accommodate enough battery power to give a 250mile range and “enables the [Alliance ]companies to maintain unique styling for their respective products”.
A preview image from Nissan has given clues as to how the similarly sized new Micra and 5 will be visually differentiated by way of bespoke light, bumper and wheel designs, but their silhouettes will be closely matched.
