Two Collards to race in British GT
Jordan Collard is to line up on the British GT Championship grid with his father, multiple British Touring Car Championship race-winner Rob, thanks to a deal to remain in the series’ GT4 class with an HHC Motorsport Mclaren.
The 20-year-old made his BGT debut last year as part of the Mclaren Driver Development Programme run by Tolman Motorsport, and took a class win at Snetterton on his way to fourth in the points with Lewis Proctor.
Collard will again race a Mclaren 570S GT4 with HHC, this time pairing up with Patrik Matthiesen. The Dane had originally planned to race with HHC in European GT4 alongside Proctor before the COVID-19 pandemic. He was a winner at Rockingham in 2018 and returns to the team after a difficult season with Optimum Motorsport in 2019.
Collard Sr is making his series debut in a Barwell Motorsport Lamborghini Huracan alongside Sandy Mitchell, and has now also been confirmed as part of the squad’s line-up in the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup, with Collard’s older son Ricky joining for the Spa 24 Hours.
Meanwhile, Century Motorsport has revealed that its second BMW M4 GT4 will be driven by series newcomers Luke Sedzikowski and Dave Whitmore. The Bronze-graded pair already have previous experience in M4 machinery, after racing together in Club Enduro last season.
