WOOD IS NOVA CENTURION

Of three pioneers who responded to the new 1980s Production Car Challenge – within the Historic Touring Car rounds – Jason Wood was the most combative in his 1600cc Vauxhall Nova GTE. The local man from Brigg astoundingly set fastest lap in Sunday’s stanza. The sight of Wood’s machine charging round in a train with second-placed Mark Watts (Ford Mustang), the Lotus Cortinas of reigning champion Bob Bullen and top qualifier Roger Stanford, Steve Platts’ Singer Chamois and Rob Wainwright’s Austin A40 will endure in spectators’ memories.
