Why was Leclerc’s pace so different

Saturday to Sunday?

We will analyse the data. But we were not heating up the tyres sufficiently for the right pace in the race.

What have you learned from the two-day format?

It has been an interesting experience. Imola will be another one. Certainly, from the engineering point of view, [having] only one free practice session on Saturday morning is too short – especially if you need to test new items. So, if you’re only going to have two days looking ahead, by increasing the number of races, in that case [on] the Saturday morning they should have a longer session.

Did the upgrade package work as expected?

We were not expecting a lot of difference. It was a small upgrade and it was completing a package we started introducing in Russia. The positive is that it was correlating well with what we saw in the windtunnel and back
