Fittipaldi’s Indycar career was a fruitful Indian summer for the double F1 world champion that yielded two Indy 500 wins, but he should have had more. After an Indy 500/Indycar title double with Patrick Racing in 1989, he joined Penske and lost a likely second Indy win in 1990 to tyre blistering. Indy redemption came in 1993, but shunting at Phoenix proved costly in the title race. He’d rather forget his 1994 Indy-losing blunder.
