Proctors move across to Greystone GT

- JAMES NEWBOLD

Father-and-son pairing Stewart and Lewis Proctor will remain behind the wheel of a Mclaren 720S GT3 in British GT this year, but will switch from Balfe Motorsport to series newcomer Greystone GT.

The squad founded by one-time Formula Renault

UK race winner Mark Mcloughlin started out as a trackday organiser in 2017, and made the move into racing last year in the GT Cup. For 2022, it will expand into the GT4 European Series, as well as stepping up into British GT.

Mcloughlin said Greystone has “recruited strongly in key areas over the winter”, having appointed former Dragon Formula E chief engineer Gary Davies to lead its technical staff. Tim Mullen, the 2006 GT2 champion in British GT, remains on board as team manager.

The Proctors won the GT3 Silver-am title last year, recording a best outright finish of third at Spa to end the year seventh in the overall points.
