Wheatley steps up to Mini JCWS with Graves

-

Mini Challenge Trophy champion Dominic Wheatley will step up to the JCW class this season, as part of Graves Motorsport’s expanded attack on the series.

Former Scottish Mini Cooper Cup star Wheatley narrowly won the UK Cooper title last year having finished runner-up to Harry Nunn in 2020. He now joins Nunn in graduating to the top JCW category with Graves.

“With the success of 2021 and the step up to the JCW class, it was important to me that we start this new chapter on the right foot,” said Wheatley (right). “Looking at our options, it was an easy choice to join Graves Motorsport.”

Team manager David Graves said: “Adding Dominic to our 2022 driver roster is a big tick. He’s shown that he can drive consistently and he is already a champion, perfect ingredients for adapting into the JCW class.

Clearly, having both past champions of the Cooper class is a huge boost for our team – Dominic and Harry will help bring the best out in each other, we believe.”

Alongside Wheatley, Nunn and Graves’s 2021 frontrunner Max Coates, Alex Denning will race in the series on a full-time basis this year. The 2020 Irish Fiesta ST champion made a one-off JCW outing last year with Jamsport and has now committed to a whole season.
