Junior champion Millar joins DTO in Ginetta GT4
Ginetta Junior champion Aston Millar will progress into the GT4 Supercup this season, joining new team DTO Motorsport.
The squad has previously organised a range of driving experiences and offered on-track coaching but expanded into
Ginetta competition at the end of last year with an entry into the GT Academy.
The team, which has former Formula 1 racer Karun Chandhok on its books, is now moving into the GT4 Supercup and will field a G56 for Millar, who finished every Junior race apart from the Brands Hatch finale in the top six last year.
“I’m really excited to be a part of a strong team like DTO,” said Millar. “I think it’s going to be a great year for us all and hopefully we can get some amazing results.
“I’ve done an initial day in the G56 and it’s similar to drive to the Junior, but with a lot more power and on slicks. The test day went well and I’m looking forward to getting more time in the new car before the season starts.”
DTO’S head of engineering Eddy Hall added: “The experience amongst this ‘new’ team is as accomplished as our competition, so I am confident of good results. With Aston’s natural ability behind the wheel, this season is going to be exciting.”
