Mills enters GB4 with family team
Formula Ford star Tom Mills will move up to the newfor-2022 GB4 Championship with Kevin Mills Racing.
The 16-year-old was impressive in his maiden season of car racing last year. He finished fourth overall in the National FF1600 Championship despite missing the first round due to his age, and featured at the front of the
Formula Ford Festival and Walter Hayes Trophy.
Mills’s father Kevin – a three-time Castle Combe FF1600 champion – has been tempted to set up a team in GB4 by its billing as a costeffective single-seater category.
“It’s a great series in the British GT paddock,” said
Mills Jr. “I haven’t got the money for British F4 but
I can get into this and get my name out there.”
GB4 has also announced the George Russell Pole Position Cup, which is being endorsed by the Mercedes Formula 1 driver. Russell claimed the 2014 BRDC F4 Championship title and the Jack Cavill Pole Position Cup, which is being renamed in his honour.
Drivers earning pole will be awarded £125, with £1000 handed to whoever wins the most poles during the season.
