W Series racer Hawkins to TCR UK in Fastr Cupra Leon
W Series and British Touring Car driver Jessica Hawkins will compete in TCR UK in 2022 for Fastr aboard a Cupra Leon.
The 27-year-old made a one-off outing in the BTCC last year with a Motorbase Performance Ford, and has also completed two full seasons of W Series. She will team up with Jamie Tonks, third in the Tcr-supporting Civic Cup last year, with both being run by Area Motorsport under the Fastr banner.
“This is such an awesome moment for me,” said Hawkins, who has also been a stunt driver for movie franchises such as Fast & Furious and James Bond. “I’ve been trying to make a high-level touring car campaign come together for many years and, finally, thanks to the help of Luke [Clayton, Fastr founder] and the team at Fastr, it’s all happening!
“I’m aiming high, obviously, but there’s some serious talent on the grid this year, so I’m going to work my socks off to do everyone proud.”
