Red Bull rookie Hadjar fastest in pre-season test

While Liam Lawson was doing the business in Formula 2 (see right), new Red Bull Junior recruit Isack Hadjar led the way in the three-day FIA Formula 3 pre-season test in Bahrain.

Franco-algerian Formula Regional graduate Hadjar (right) topped the times on two of the three days with Hitech GP, outpacing ART Grand Prix’s Victor Martins by 0.355 seconds.

Hadjar’s 2021 Regional team-mate Zane Maloney was fastest on the opening day with Trident, and that time remained good enough for third overall. Others to top sessions were Ferraribacked Arthur Leclerc (Prema) and Czech

Roman Stanek (Trident).

Jonny Edgar (Trident) was best of the Brits in fifth, with Carlin’s new Williams junior Zak O’sullivan 12th and Prema’s Ferrari protege Ollie Bearman in 18th.
