Clowes to contest both F1000 and Sports 1000
Dan Clowes will contest both the 750 Motor Club’s F1000 and Sports 1000 championships in 2022 after making his debut in the latter category at Croft.
The 48-year-old took a fifth and a sixth in the two races aboard his Mittell Cars-run Mittell MC-53.
He will continue to be run by
JFK Racing in F1000, however, as he attempts to regain the title he won in 2020.
“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed racing the Mittell, it’s got less mechanical but more aero grip so is quite floaty compared to the F1000,” said Clowes.
“Hopefully the timetables at Donington in August and at Snetterton’s season finale where both categories are racing will be kind to me – I don’t fancy the run from parc ferme back to the collecting area there!”
