Tamfest returns to haunt the streets of Ayr next month
TAMFEST will be haunting Ayr’s streets next month with a line-up of over 50 frightening activities.
Throughout October, visitors of all ages will be able to enjoy a variety of events and activities such as an escape room, an art exhibition by Craig Campbell, a ‘terror trail’ walking route, puppet workshops, and street entertainment.
Additionally, a comic celebration of Robert Burns’ gothic poems, Tam O’ Shanter & Other Tales, will take place at The Gaiety Theatre.
The final night of frights on Sunday, October 30 will see mainstage performances, ghost hunting, markets, kids crafting activities, street entertainment, and more taking over Ayr High Street.
Despite this, some activities will remain open throughout Monday October 31 such as the art installation, the walking trail, and the escape room.
The Carnevil Stage has been introduced to the festival and will host acts alongside the longstanding Devil’s Stage.

“EventScotland is delighted to be supporting Tamfest, with its strong ties to both the classic Burns poem and Ayrshire area, helping to bring people to the streets of Ayr, join the festivities and support the local economy.”
Tamfest, which is named after the Robert Burns poem Tam O’Shanter, was founded by Ayr resident Meredith McCrindle in 2015 and is currently in its eighth year.
The festival is supported by EventScotland and South Ayrshire Council.
