Crosshouse doctor who shouted at elderly wife awaits sentence
A CROSSHOUSE doctor who shouted aggressively at his wife awaits his fate after cops were called out to his home in Ayr.
Itamar Felsenstein, 61, pleaded guilty to causing fear and alarm through threatening or abusive behaviour during the incident at his then address in Inverkar Road, Ayr on April 25 this year.
The court previously heard how Felsenstein repeatedly shouted at his wife – who court papers state is aged 76 – in the property while acting in an aggressive manner.
The Procurator Fiscal’s complaint states the threatening behaviour offence was aggravated by involving abuse of a partner.
When he returned to Ayr Sheriff Court for last week [Tuesday, September 20] his defence solicitor said: “This was deferred for good behaviour, obviously he has been of good behaviour. I would suggest further deferment.
“It has naturally been very embarrassing appearing in court a man in his position of some importance in the community,
“There has been some improvement and he is attending a psychotherapist.”
Sheriff Siobhan Connelly: “I’m going to further defer sentence for three months for you to be of good behaviour.
“I will get a supplementary report at that stage to see how you are progressing on all matters before you come back to court – you will be given a date.”
He will return to court for sentencing later in the year.

Crosshouse Hospital on the Good Doctor website.
