AUCHINLECK Talbot’s difficult start to the season saw them lose at home to second place Kirkintill­och Rob Roy in the West of Scotland Football League at the weekend.

The result leaves Talbot back in 11th place, albeit with a game in hand over most other clubs.

Largs Thistle lost 3-2 away to Clydebank to continue their recent poor, ruin, leaving them in 13th place.

But Irvine Meadow got a good win in a thrilling all-Ayrshire clash against Hurlford at Meadow Park at the weekend, with a 4-3 victory.

Rivals Kilwinning Rangers took a draw at home to Pollok, while Troon got a good win at home against Cambuslang Rangers, with a 1-0 scoreline.

Glenafton got a decent draw against league leaders Darvel at home.

In the First Division, Kilbirnie Ladeside lost 2-1 to Shotts Bon Accord, while Whitletts Vics drew away at Rutherglen Glencairn, thanks to a 93rd minute equaliser by the home team.

In the second division, Ardeer got a 1-1 draw at home to Maryhill.

In another all Ayrshire clash, Maybole Juniors beat Muirkirk Juniors by 2-1.

In the third division, Ardrossan Winton Rovers got a great 1-5 win away to Finnart.

But it wasn’t good news for Girvan who were hammered 6-0 at home by Vale of Clyde.

Irvine Victoria took the points at home to Newmains, with a cracking 4-0 win.

But Dalry Thistle lost 3-0 away to Kello Rovers.

Saltcoats Vics saw their away match against Bellshill Athletic postponed.

Those results leave Darvel on top of the Premier League on goal difference, level on points with Kirkintill­och and Cumnock but with a game in hand.

Troon remain in seventh, with 12 points, with Beith on 11 points and Kilwinning Rangers on 10, with a game in hand.

Glenafton are in 10th place on nine points followed by Auchinleck on 8, then Irvine Meadow and Largs Thistle both on seven points.

In the First Division, Kilbirnie Ladeside remain second, a point behind leaders Drumchapel. Whitletts Vics remain third bottom on just four points.

The second vision is currently led by Renfrew on 19 points, with Maybole Juniors in third on 17. Muirkirk are in 13th place, with Ardeer in 15th.

In the third division, Larkhall remain on top with 25 points, with Kello Rovers in second on 24. Irvine Vics are fourth with 21 points, with Ardrossan Winton Rovers close behind in sixth on 20 points

Girvan are ninth on 13 points, with Dalry in 11th on 12 points. Saltcoats Vics are second from the bottom with just one point.
