- Kenny Smith

The Ayrshire Star Wars Collective proudly presented a cheque for £ 1320 to staff at Rainbow House.

The fundraising Stormtroopers climbed Goat Fell on Sunday, May 1, in full Star Wars costume, collecting sponsorship before, during and after their climb.

The collective includes Gordon Smallwood, Josh McGregor, and Set Sail Tattoo owners, Louis and Victoria McKee.

They regularly hold annual fundraisers and decided to dedicate their latest round of charity work to Rainbow House.

Gordon said: “What a positive response from the public we have had.

“We would like to say a huge thanks to everyone who donated to the cause and everyone who helped and supported us during our hike up Goat Fell.

“The Force has definitely been with us.”

Rainbow House is an assessment, diagnosis and treatment centre for children and young people in Ayrshire and Arran who may need additional support with their development. It is also the base for the community paediatric service.

Dr Nuno Cordeiro, consultant paediatrician at Rainbow House, said: “This is a magnificent donation that will be put to good use to benefit Rainbow House patients and families, including contributing towards a planned weekend in Keswick for a group of young adults.

“On behalf of everyone at Rainbow House, I would like to say a huge thanks to the Ayrshire Star Wars Collective and everyone who donated.”
