We love Prestwick
Travelling from Glasgow Prestwick Airport is the only option for Maybole couple Richard and Anne Sproule, when they want to take a break in the sun.
The pair are regular flyers from the airport, using it several times a year to get away.
And they heartily recommend it to the Ayrshire community, especially with it being so conveniently located.
Anne said: “We always come to Prestwick when we want to get away - it’s the closest airport to us, and the destinations are exactly where we want to go.
“We like to get away to Murcia and Alicante. We love it.”
Richard agreed: “I only came back last week after having a few days away, and that’s us going away again to Alicante.
“It’s absolutely idea for us it’s such a short journey from home, and the flights are so affordable.”
As frequent flyers from Glasgow Prestwick Airport - and having used it for decades, including flying to America - the pair are well aware of how it has changed over the years.
Ann explained: “The airport is so much better now. There’s been so many changes over the last year, and it’s been changes for the better.”
And Richard added: “It’s been a huge upturn in the fortunes - it’s looking so much better than it was even just a year ago. ”
Richard and Anne aren’t the only members of their family who use Prestwick Airport, as their daughter Emma and her partner like to fly to Fuerteventura.
Anne added: “We’d recommend Prestwick to people who’ve never flown from here before, or not been here in a while.
“There’s such a huge difference in the prices, and it’s so cheap when you get the train here. If you show them your boarding card you get it for half price.”
