Time to go digital in art

-

Whizz kids from the University of the West of Scotland showed off their digital skills recently with an end of year exhibition.

The BA ( Hons) Digital Art students who appropriately named their exhibition ‘ 23 Degrees’ showcased their work at the Ayr campus studios in the exhibition corridor.

And the show was a huge success for the talented team who will be graduating next month, with friends and family coming along in support of their final course venture.

Programme Leader, Robert Sutter said: “It was a really successful show and I am so proud of each and every one of them.

“In terms of the work they had produced, it was one of the most diverse years we’ve had with a variety of pieces on display.

“Some of the work was sold to both the public and lecturers which was gratifying for the students to see the worth of their completed work.

“I’ve been really lucky with this year group who have shown such a diverse range of transferable skills in a contemporary digital environment, producing work which encapsulates everything from games, special effects, television, photography and working with Oculus Rift which makes it possible to see anything through the power of virtual reality.

“I wish them every success in their careers and post graduate programmes and I am sure they will go on to achieve great things.”

Class representative and graduate, Amanda Williams added: “The feedback we got from our exhibition was amazing, everyone was so enthusiastic, we all worked so hard to get to where we are and thanks go to the lecturers and staff for all their support and encouragement.”
