Summer of fun at Gaiety workshops

-

Do your youngsters dream of being the next Shakira – or the next Shakespeare?

Whatever their dream, a series of summer workshops at Ayr’s Gaiety studio theatre could help make them come true.

The historic theatre kicks off the programme with budding songsters getting their chance to shine with the music workshop.

Young musicians can work with experienced singer- songwriters and musicians in special sessions during two week- long workshops for different age groups.

The music workshop for 13 to 17 year olds runs from Monday, July 4 until Friday, July 8, with the workshop for nine to 12 year olds running from Monday, July 18 until Friday, July 22.

And after that, those with a flair for the dramatic can get involved in the Young Company Workshop, for 16 to 25 year olds.

Ahead of the official launch in the autumn, budding theatremakers will be challenged to produce their own stage production in just 35 hours.

The theatre workshop runs from Monday, August 1 until Friday, August 5.

And finally, Ayrshire’s budding Scorcese’s and Tarantino’s will take to the stage with the chance to work with camera operators, directors, editors and producers.

The film workshop for 13 to 17 year olds runs from Monday, July 11 until Friday, July 15, with the workshop for nine to 12 year olds running from Monday, August 8 until Friday, August 12.
