Vote for favourite Songs Unseen

Music World premieres of songs from award winning composers are coming to Irvine’s Harbour Arts Centre next month.

And fans will have the chance to vote for their favourite piece, ready to be taken into further developmen­t.

Songs Unseen, by New Inck and Capall Dorcha Theatre Company, will preview songs from Olivier winning composers Stiles and Drewe and Tony nominated Bill Russell and Janet Hood.

Scottish composers Karen MacIver, Andrew Cruickshan­k, composer and lyricist team Alan Penman and Johnny Macknight, as well as emerging musicians Finn Anderson and Gus Gowland, will also showcase work.

The show is directed by Dr Donna Soto Morettini, performanc­e coach on theatre icon Andrew Lloyd Webber’s BBC shows such as I’d Do Anything and How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria.

After each of the three nights, including one at the HAC, a questions and answer sessions with the cast and producers will decide which songs and musicals will be taken on and developed into a full scale, touring Scottish musical theatre production.

The show follows on from a similar show, Scenes Unseen, which was heralded by critics as “a fascinatin­g evening of theatre.”

Songs Unseen comes to Irvine’s Harbour Arts Centre on Saturday, July 2, 7.30pm.
