Messy Church planned at Troon St Ninian

Messy church will be held in St Ninian’s Church, Bentinck Drive on Sunday, November 6 from 4pm to 6pm. Activities on offer include stories, music and crafts. There will be a family meal, which gives parents and children the opportunit­y to chat. St Andrews Concert will take place at the Auld Kirk of Ayr on Saturday, November 26, and 7pm. Tickets are available on the door, at Sunday service or from the office for £ 10. All proceeds go to the church.

Prestwick South continues its series of discussion­s entitled Christiani­ty Explored this weekend.

Rev Kenneth Elliott said: “The sessions are informal conversati­ons to allow everyone to contribute as much as they want or you can simply listen and reflect on what is being shared.”

The sessions will be held on Sundays until November 27 in the church hall from 5pm until 6.30pm.

Portland Parish Church in Troon is lining up some musical events.

David Hamilton, the organist at Strathclyd­e University and director of music at St Mary’s Episcopal Church, will give an organ recital at the church on Sunday, November 13, at 3pm. Tickets cost £ 5 for adults and £ 2 for children.

Later in November Portland Church will play host to a musical fundraiser for Save the Children.

Andrew McTaggart and friends will give an evening of musical entertainm­ent on Saturday, November 19, at 7.30pm.
