Ayr Seaforth athlete Kirstin Oakley is enjoying life in America.

In August, she started life at Bradley University, Illinois where she is competing in NCAA Divison 1 with the Bradley Braves while studying for a psychology degree.

Kirstin helped her team win two of three cross country races before facing the biggest race of the season, the Missouri Valley Conference Cross Country Championships at Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Kirstin was initially selected as part of the team of 10 female athletes who travelled and was then chosen as one of the eight who competed for her team.

An excellent run saw her come home 16th as the fourth points counter for her team which was enough to give the defending champions second place.
