Uniting the community Funding will connect generations
T h e C a t r i n e Community Trust has received a whopping £ 143,950 to bring the generations together.
The award from the Big Lottery Fund, covering a three- year period, is for a project called Connecting Catrine’s Generation, which is all about giving people the chance to take part in volunteering of any description, but especially where befriending or just looking out for others is key.
Catrine Community Trust want to use information technology to try and start to break down the barriers of social isolation.
Their idea is to encourage people from different generations to spend more time together and pass on skills and knowledge.
