Funding Dalmellington Community Association ( DCA) have received £ 80,100 from the EU- funded Ayrshire Leader programme towards upgrading and improving the toilets and frontage in the community centre. Sarah Hyslop from Ayrshire Leader said: “The Ayrshire local action group were impressed by the DCA’s commitment to improving a local community facility for the benefit of everyone in the area.” Miners’ strike New Inck Theatre are working with Dalmellington Community Association to incorporate true life stories of this turbulent time into a new play by local playwright Ros Borland. Ros and producer Lisa Nicoll are looking to meet the community to hear stories. There are sessions on February 2 and each Monday in March from 6– 8pm. Refreshments will be provided. Over- 60s group Dalmelling Community Association run an over- 60s group in the community centre every Friday afternoon. They are looking for volunteers to assist in running this group. Duties would be serving refreshments, playing games and interacting with the members. They do not expect volunteers to attend every Friday. Training will be available.
