Your guide to the top gigs around Ayrshire

It’s another packed weekend of gigs around Ayrshire this week, with top performanc­es in pubs and clubs the length and breadth of the county.

On Friday night, singer- songwriter Alan Frew entertains at Elliots in Prestwick.

Having shared stages with the likes of The Proclaimer­s and Paolo Nutini, he has earned rave reviews for his performanc­es and is sure to go down a treat at the popular bar.

In Kilmarnock, The Wartime Coats and The Bahookie Cheek take to the floor at the popular Bellfield Tavern gig spot, with Wartime Coats man David Thomson opening the night.

On Saturday night, rhythm and blues outfit Memphis perform at Prestwick’s Golf Inn while Just Like Eddie takes a trip back in time at his usual haunt of the Anchor Bar and the Debt Collectors perform at Harleys in Nile Court.

And as always, there’s a great selection of open mics, acoustic evenings and jam sessions throughout the county.
