Castle chiefs bidding to land top industry award

-

A top Ayrshire wedding venue is hoping to be crowned Scotland’s best in the business.

Plush Blairquhan Castle, near Straiton, has been nominated as a finalist in the upcoming Scottish Wedding Awards.

The awards, in their fifth year, will see Blairquhan do battle for the top venue title in the south west region.

And should they win their regional heat next week, it will be on to the national final to bid for the title of overall Wedding Venue of the Year.

Castle General Manager, Nan Li, said: “We are thrilled to have learned that we have been shortlisted for the Scottish Wedding Awards 2017 in the Wedding Venue of the Year category.

“This is a great achievement by our dedicated team and we couldn’t be more thankful to our clients who have voted for us.

“I have my fingers crossed and look forward to attending the awards ceremony at the end of this month - hopefully we will take home an award!”

With a public voting system, the Scottish Wedding Awards is hailed as a celebration of local talent, with nominations are made by members of the general public.

To enter the competition, dress makers, florists, photographers, caterers, and others throughout Scotland have been put forward by devoted clients that have experienced top service.

This year’s awards take place on Monday, February 27 at the Crowne Plaza in Glasgow, hosted by Scottish radio personality Gina Mckie.

Blairquhan hosts its next Wedding Open Day on Sunday, March 5 between 1- 4pm.

Entry is free with complimentary fizz and canapes and the castle will be fully set up for weddings with local wedding suppliers exhibiting on the day.
