Knockout blow as only one rink wins
Prestwick seniors crashed from the Scottish Knockout Cup when they lost 8- 2 to East Kilbride at Auchinleck.
Alex Thomson was the only winning skip.
The second round of matches took place at Auchinleck on Saturday in the Ayrshire Seniors League with all clubs still in the hunt for the trophy.
Prestwick lost 6- 2 to Ardrossan with Mor r is Sturgeon the only winner. On Saturday, the league come to an end at Ardrossan with all four clubs still in contention.
Prestwick has four winners in the Ayrshire playdowns. Adam Grant ( junior singles), Jamie Houston and Stuart Reid ( gents pairs), Michael Higgins, Jim Fortune and Morris Sturgeon ( senior triples), David Phillips, George Little, Alex Thomson and John Lindsay ( senior fours) are through to the finals on Sunday, March 19 at Ardrossan.
On Saturday from noon to 2pm, the juniors entertain Alloa in the quarter- final of the SYIBA Top 10, a trophy they won last year. Winners will progress to finals day at Falkirk in March.
The club hosts a Ladies Scottish Cup tie between Paisley and Blantyre from 2- 6pm with a quarter- final place at stake.
The gents finish their league campaign on Saturday with an away game at the Galleon. A win would secure them third in the section.
Rebecca Houston travels to Abbeyview on Sunday for the SIBA U18 trial and bidding for a place in the team that will compete in the International Series in England in October.
Auchinleck seniors beat Blantyre 6- 4 at Ayr in the second round of Scottish Knockout Cup.
Scores: E Duncan 15, G Sullivan 17; S Moore 21, M Lennon 9; W McArthur 15, D Moffat 23; D Mitchell 15, C Bence 12. They were due to play East Kilbride at Dumbarton on Wednesday.
The seniors drew 4- 4 with Galleon. Scores: S Rowan 10, G Truesdale 27; W McArthur 14, A Kilpatrick 11; E Duncan 17, D Cathcart 12.

On Saturday, Auchinleck take on Prestwick in the final match of AIBA Gents Senior Fours League at Ardrossan.
