WASPI boost
Women campaigning for pension equality in Ayrshire have been boosted – after a “ludicrous” statement by the government’s pension minister.
More than 140 people joined the Woman Against State Pension Inequality ( WASPI) group after Conservative MP Guy Opperman suggested women over the age of 60 facing financial hardship should start an apprenticeship.
Ann Fraser, co- ordinator of the Ayrshire group, will be at Cumnock Library next Tuesday between 11am and noon to help any women affected.
