Open for everyone

Irvine’s pretty Harbourside burst into life on Saturday as the area celebrated the Scottish Open Golf tournament with an apres golf festival.

Bands and musicians, including Counselled Out, the Louise Mochan Trio, Mandulu & Hephzibah and Alloway Grove performed at a variety of venues in the Harbourside from the afternoon to the 10.30 pm finish.

The evening was suitably brought to a close with a stunning fireworks display.

The event was held to coincide with the Scottish Open which was held over the weekend at Irvine’s Dundonald Links.

North Ayrshire Councillor Louise McPhater, said: “It’s great that we are celebrating the fact a world- class sporting event is taking place right here on our door- step.

“The Harbourside is one of the most beautiful parts of North Ayrshire so is a perfect location to host such an event.”
