Chef is now on sex pervert list

-

A paedophile chef who lost his job at a top island hotel after the Post alerted managers has been spared jail.

Michael Kelly had listed his bail address as staff accommodation at the Auchrannie in Brodick after admitting having a hoard of child porn images.

He is now living back in Ayr after flitting from the Arran escape.

In the past he worked at South Ayrshire hotels including the Brig O’ Doon in Alloway.

Last week he appeared at the town’s sheriff court to face his punishment.

Bearded Kelly, 33, was added to the sex offender’s register for three years and must undergo community supervision for the same period.

Lawyer Gregor Forbes told Sheriff Desmond Leslie that Kelly had “lost employment and accommodation” and had now found a temporary place to stay in Ayr. Sheriff Desmond Leslie told Kelly “it was clear you recognise your own culpability.”

As well as community supervision the Sheriff ordered him to complete the Moving Forward Making Changes programme.

At an earlier hearing the pervert pled guilty to taking or permitting to be taken or making indecent photographs of children between July 1, 2013 and September 29, 2016.

He previously lived in Main Street in Minishant. His new address in Ayr was not provided in court documentation seen by the Post.
