Troon OIR ( Oportuniti­es in Retirement) Will open its new session on Wednesday, September 13 in Portland Church Hall. Registrati­on from 1pm. with the General Meeting starting at 2pm. The speaker for the afternoon will be Su Dearing and her subject is Keep Healthy and Keep Moving. Membership for the OIR is £ 10 with £ 1 payable at activities. New members will be warmly welcomed. Bookbug Sessions For babies and young children up to 4years are held every Wednesday in Troon Library at 9.15am and 2.15pm. Each session last 30 minutes and includes songs, stories and rhymes. Girls’ Brigade 1st Troon Girls Brigade meet in St Meddan’s Church Hall every Monday at the following times: Girls in P1- P3 meet from 6.30pm to 7.30pm. Girls in P4- P7 meet from 7pm to 8.30pm. Secondary girls from 1 st year upwards meet at 7pm to 8.30pm. Oxfam Join the team – volunteeri­ng is an ideal way to improve language skills, make new friends and gain confidence. By volunteeri­ng in either of Oxfam’s shops – 49 Academy Street and 9b Church Street, you become part of the community and provide much needed staff.
