We’re getting all set to go, ho ho for Reindeer Dash Now in its second year, the event will again raise cash for people in Ayrshire affected by cancer
Ayrshire Cancer Support, Ayrshire’s leading cancer charity, is delighted to launch the Christmas event of 2017, The Reindeer Dash, with the help and support of Kilmarnock Football Club and The Kilmarnock Standard. The event, now in its second year, is back by popular demand and helps to raise funds for people affected by cancer throughout Ayrshire.
Ayrshire Cancer Support provides practical and emotional support to people affected by cancer, either through a personal diagnosis or that of a loved one.
The charity provides services for Ayrshire residents, including hospital transport for people receiving treatment, counselling and alternative therapies.
Sandra McCall , CEO of Ayrshire Cancer Support said: “It’s fantastic to have the support of Kilmarnock Football Club players and management and while the Reindeer Dash is a bit of fun, it’s aim is to raise as much money as possible to help to continue to provide free services to every resident of Ayrshire who needs to access our services.
“Sadly almost everyone in Ayrshire is affected by cancer, either through their own diagnosis or through a family member, friend or colleague. Hat’s off to the team for getting behind us..”
Raymond Montgomery, Captain of the 1997 Scottish Cup winning team said: “Ayrshire Cancer Support are a tremendous local charity, and with limited resources do a fantastic job caring for people affected by cancer. Kilmarnock Football Club is delighted to offer their help raising funds, should any of our supporters need to access Ayrshire Cancer Support now or in the future.”
Registration is now open for the event, which takes place on 10th December at 11.30am at the Howard Park Kilmarnock.
The 5K fun run ( walk or crawl) culminates in King Street, just before the real Reindeer Parade, part of East Ayrshire’s festivities.
