A tartan treat from Les and his Rollers

-

Tartan rockers Les McKeown’s Bay City Rollers will play the Palace Theatre later this month.

The band will take to the stage on Saturday, September 16, in a gig that is sure to see Kilmarnock decked out in tartan.

The legendary Scottish boy band ruled the world’s pop charts as their music become the soundtrack for a generation of teenagers.

And the hottest ticket in town is the perfect place for wannabe rockers to recapture their youth in a show that will transport them back to the 1970s.

Les McKeown’s Bay City Rollers’ gig will bring back the thrill and excitement of Rollermania, as they perform all the original hits including ‘ Bye Bye Baby’, ‘ Shang- a- Lang’, ‘ Remember’, ‘ Summerlove Sensation’ and ‘ Give A Little Love’.

As well as bringing the energy expected from the band’s classic hits, Les and the boys will showcase a number of new songs from the upcoming Bay City Rollers album.

Les will be joined by singer- songwriter from punk rock outfit The Stiffs, Phil Hendriks, who will rock the stage on lead guitar; Si Roller will lay down the bass; and session drummer, percussionist, composer and producer, Dan Guest, will provide the beat behind the drums to a night of partying. Les himself will, of course, provide the vocals.

The gig comes just three days before British rock giants The Libertines play the Grand Hall, showcasing their hits as well as new tracks from their most recent album Anthems for Doomed Youth.

The bands are the latest in a long line of huge acts to perform at the Grand Hall with Kasabian, The View, Johnny Marr, Primal Scream and Calvin Harris all coming to town in recent years.
