Barnados need your help. If you can spare a few hours every week or two in the shop in Portland Street helping to raise funds for children and their families in Scotland. Please pop into the shop or 01292 676099. Any help will be gratefully received. Computers are available for use in Troon Library for up to two hours free.

Membership of the Library is free and every computer has Internet access and full Microsoft Office. Troon Round Table are once again holding their very popular Fireworks Display on the North Shore Road on Saturday, November 4, at 7.30pm.

A fun fair will be operating from 4pm to 9.30pm.

Donations to cover costs will be gratefully received by members of Troon Round Table who will be rattling cans during the display. The Rotary Club in Troon are organising a Bridge Afternoon on Friday, November 3, in Portland Church hall with a 2pm start.

Tables costing £ 24 ( inclusive of afternoon tea) should be booked now.

Please contact Fiona Bain on 07761 970 342. There will be prizes and a raffle. Proceeds to the Troon Rotary Community Support. The Ayrshire Hospice are holding a Craft Fair on Saturday, November 4 , from 11am until 3.30pm.

All the gifts are hand- made and very suitable for Christmas presents.

The Fair is held at the Drop- In Cafe, Ayrshire Hospice, Racecourse Road. Ladies Lunches in aid of Hansel are to be held at Lochgreen House Hotel, Troon from October 29 to November 2.

The ticket cost is £ 35 which includes coffee and shortbread on arrival, cooking demonstrat­ion, tour of the spa suites and shopping bazaar.

The lunch is a three- course meal with wine and a fashion show from Gerry Weber.

In today’s world keeping up with technology is very difficult. If you could offer two hours every week teaching someone the basics please tel Ann Porter on 07590 459917. Troon Lifeboat Fundraisin­g Branch are holding an Antiques Evening in the Walker Hall on Friday, October 27, from 7.30pm.

A talk and presentati­on will be given by Robert JF Watt, from Past and Present Stewarton. There will be a raffle and licensed bar.

Anyone with an item of interest is asked to bring it along on the night.
