Pocket a ticket for Oliver!

EAYT show at the Palace

-

Young theatre stars have been hard at work rehearsing for their latest production - and it’s shaping up to be the best one yet.

East Ayrshire Youth Theatre’s talented performers will take to the stage for Oliver! next month after months of rehearsals.

Set in London’s murky underworld, the much- loved Lionel Bart musical tells the famous story of the runaway orphan and the colourful characters he meets following his escape from the workhouse.

The talented young cast will perform Bart’s witty and memorable songs - including You’ve Got to Pick a Pocket or Two, Consider Yourself and I’d Do Anything - as they put on a show that will tug at your heart strings, make you smile and have you singing along.

Craig Glover, the new director of EAYT, said: “On behalf of the entire production team, we would like to thank our cast for their commitment and hard work over the last few months. Their energy and enthusiasm is contagious and their talent is thriving.

“We already have some exciting plans to challenge and engage our future participants, while managing to preserve EAYT’s legacy as one of the most vibrant and flourishing youth theatre companies in Scotland.”

The team will be assisted by dancer and choreographer Clark Wallace and musical director James O’Neil for their latest show.

Oliver! heads to Kilmarnock’s Palace Theatre on Friday, November 10 and Saturday, November 11 with 7pm performances both nights and a special Saturday matinee show at 2pm. Tickets cost £ 13/ 11, and are available from eastayrshireleisure. com or the Palace Theatre box office on 01563 554900.
