Our front page story last week showed that the drink- drive figures are on the RISE.

The news didn’t impress some. Conway McBride Bobby said: “It was the Tories who brought welfare reforms back, increased foodbank use, sick and disabled going hungry, put through hell of health assessments, robbed our pensions.

“Tories have brought GB down on its knees.”

Craig Murray said: “Because the Tories are real social justice warriors.” Council rents are set to rise and that got folks talking.

James Smith said: “Why don’t the council charge you rent for the area you live in?

Why should I pay same rent for a top floor flat as the same as folk in houses in Doonfoot or all these new build houses?”

James Mackie said: “So that will mean we will get up to date double glazing in the council bungalows in Knockroon Lane, Auchinleck?

“We will freeze over before hell and these are old people.”
