-

Award winning and popular hair salon have recorded their own Christmas single to raise money for charity.

Staff at Rainbow Room International swapped their scissors for microphones as they wrote and recorded their single ‘ Christmas Feelings’ to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust.

Owner and Salon Director at Rainbow Room International’s Royal Exchange Square salon, David Nicolson had the idea and asked Rachael Macdonald, Art Director at RRI’s Ayr Salon and Alijah Nerheim, Stylist at RRI Bearsden to join him.

The trio were headhunted and asked to perform on STV2 for a special festive performance.

David, who currently lives in Troon, has been with the company for over 25 years and has released the Christmas singles in partnership with the Salon in the past.

Speaking about ‘ Christmas Feelings’, he said: “Recording the single was a great team building experience, we wrote and produced the whole thing ourselves.

“Having the opportunity this year to appear on STV2 Live at Five was fulfilling and that they recognised our efforts in raising money for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

“Telling our clients we have been on the programme makes them want to go and watch the performance and essentially raise awareness of the charity.

Speaking about the response of the song, Rachael Macdonald, of Ayr, said: “The response has been amazing so far. “Everyone is so supportive. “The fact that we got to perform it on STV was amazing! Although that was very nerve- wracking.”

Alijah Nerheim also said: “It feels good knowing that the single is being sold for such a great cause, with all the money going towards the charity Teenage Cancer Trust.”

The Christmas song is available to purchase online with a £ 3 minimum donation.
