Yee- haw! Country music show is set to roll into town

- Lochlin Highet

A hit music show is coming to town.

Following a sell- out UK tour in 2016 Europe’s No. 1 Legends of American Country returns for another fantastic night of toetapping Country classics.

The 2018 tour will showcase highly acclaimed tributes to Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard and Alan Jackson and four brand new tributes to icons George Jones, Kenny Rogers, Patsy Cline and Don Williams in this must- see extravaganza.

Singers Rod McAuley, Joe Moore and Tracey McAuley are backed by the superb Keltic Storm band and coupled with an authentic stage set that will transport you all the way to Nashville and back.

And the man behind it, James McGarrity, is more than ready to go.

He helps put the show together along with promoting the gigs and arranging them.

But not only that – James even plays in the show.

He has been involved in music for 22 years and speaking exclusively to the Post, he said: “The show is doing very well.

“We do 120 dates across Scotland, England, Ireland and Wales.

“Scotland is probably one of our strongest markets – this year alone we are doing around 32 shows here.

“I bring a lot of other country shows to Scotland as plenty of people seem to be really big into country, especially Irish.

“This will be our third time in Ayr – and it looks set to be a full house.

“The reception is always good at the Gaiety.

“There are people sitting in three tiers so there are some close to you and some very high up. “This year we have tried to bring a fresh show which includes new material which will be good for the people.

“There are four singers and five in the band so it’s absolutely action packed. There are plenty of big hits to keep everyone going.”

The show is now in its fourth year and James has big plans for the future.

He said: “The first two years were mostly in Ireland, but it has just exploded.

“We hope to take the fifth year anniversary in 2019 to Australia and Canada.

“I hope to take in an extra musician, along with dancers and get visuals involved.” The show will be at the Gaiety this Friday. It will kick off at 7.30pm with tickets costing £ 16-£ 24. Contact the Gaiety for more info 01292 288235.
