Talk of the town from our social media

-

We told that waiting times have spiked in Ayrshire’s hospitals.

Margaret Rooney said: “Absolutely delighted with my treatment.

“In and out in under two hours.

“First class. Friendly courteous professional caring.

“Every single person I came in contact with.”

Marie Haswell replied to that comment: “That’s brilliant.

“The name of the game is for everyone to have the same experience as you had.

“Sadly that us not happening. “It’s not the fault of the staff, just not enough of them.”

Kieran Macdonald said: “This is ridiculous they should have being seen right away.”

Elaine Hutton said: “So sad to see such negative comments.

“Having had the benefits of such wonderful care over a year long period from staff at Ayr, an eight hour wait to be discharged with those magic words ‘ you are clear’ would be no wait at all.

“You provide us with a wonderful service in our hour of true need.

“Thank you.”

Ayr United moved within touching distance of the League One title, and 675 fans travelled to Airdrie on Saturday.

Tracey Wood Mckelvie said: “Great game and what a support we had!

“Come on the super Ayr United.”

Nicola Arthur said: “We can do this, come on Ayr!”

With the 675 number, some fans felt it was more.

John Brown said: “It was well more than that.”

MSP Colin Smyth feels that the NHS is at ‘ breaking point’.

Michael Mclaughlin said: “No major political party is willing to commit to a massive overhaul of the NHS as there opponents will simply campaign on the fact that they are cutting the NHS.

“It’s time party politics was put to the side otherwise it will only lead to the destruction of the NHS.”

Joe Jeudwine said: “NHS Scotland is not at breaking point it’s the English NHS that is broken.”

Maureen Gilsenan said: “Of course it is.

“Ca n ’ t e v e n g e t a n appointment at local surgeries and receptionists are rude when you phone for one.

“They ask personal questions and decide if you should see the doctor, it’s so wrong.”

Our memory lane page featured a picture of Stewart Kean of Drongan United with the Scottish Amateur Cup in 1985.

Stuart O’neil said: “Stewart Kean, a total gentleman and deserves credit for what he done for Drongan United amateurs.”
