Rev wanted
Ballantrae and St Colmon Parish is still seeking a new minister. Interim moderator Rev Ian McLachlan said there is unlikely to be a new minister ‘ in the foreseeable future.’ The vacancy has yet to be advertised.
Cafe time
Cafe Church will take place on the second and fourth Friday of every month in St Colmon Kirk Hall.
The informal social get together offers refreshments. worship, music and conversatiom. It runs from 6.30pm to 7pm.
Mid week worshipping
Wednesday Worship is a short service followed by a cuppa at Alloway Church. It takes place fortnightly throughout the year in the Octagonal Hall at 11am. Quiet Prayer takes place every Thursday at 10.30am in the Fellowship Lounge.
Farm spirit
The Church of Scotland farming ministry has organised health checks for farmers on May 1.
The event, which is run in conjunction with the NHS, will take place at Ayr Mart at 10.30am.
Farmers can get their blood pressure and mental health checked.
The surgeries launched last month.
Farming minister Rev Chris Blackshaw said there was a high take up and “a lot of high blood pressures.”
The great wall hanging
The race is on to complete Troon’s own ‘ great wall hanging.’
There is a big push for the St Ninian’s creation to be finished by June.
The project aims to celebrate the life of the Episcopal church in Troon, hall users and wider community.
Extra dates for work have been added.
Spring song
The Chorus Sprint Concert will take place in St Meddan’s Church in Troon on Saturday, April 21 at 7.30pm. Tickets for adults are £ 8 and are available from Words and Music and on the door. Those aged under 18 pay £ 4.
