Thug who ter­ri­fied mum jailed

an abu­sive son is be­hind bars for ter­ror­is­ing his mother.

Craig provan turned up at his mum gil­lian’s home, bang­ing on the win­dows on april 18, ayr sher­iff Court heard last week.

De­pute fis­cal Ja­son Bell said provan’s mother told him he was not wanted at the house in West­port, tar­bolton, be­cause of his be­hav­iour in the past. Mr Bell said provan was mut­ter­ing to him­self and be­gan search­ing through cup­boards af­ter gain­ing en­try. af­ter he left Ms provan locked the door but the ac­cused re­turned and started pum­mel­ing the win­dow to get in. He was swear­ing.

On get­ting in­side he went to the bed­room and rum­maged through the cup­boards again. Ms provan phoned the po­lice.

Mr Bell said: “the ac­cused stated he would slash some­one.”

the fis­cal said he was ag­gre­sive and con­stantly talk­ing. He was cau­tioned and charged but made no re­ply. provan ad­mit­ted at­tend­ing the ad­dress un­in­vited, shout­ing, swear­ing, act­ing in an er­ratic man­ner and re­peat­edly re­fus­ing to leave. solic­i­tor glenn Davis said his client was on street Val­ium at the time. sher­iff Des­mond les­lie sen­tenced home­less provan to four months in prison.
