Four hun­dred peo­ple will at­tend a sell- out fundrais­ing lun­cheon or­gan­ised by the Ayr branch of Save the Chil­dren.

Sports broad­caster Hazel Irvine is guest speaker in the ball­room at Turn­berry Ho­tel this Thurs­day ( May 17).

The event has been or­gan­ised by Sheila Harsant, vice chair of the branch.

She said: “We are go­ing big and have re­ceived a £ 5000 do­na­tion for the cham­pagne re­cep­tion from an Ayr busi­ness­man who wishes to stay anony­mous.

“There will be a harpist and pian­ist play­ing dur­ing the lunch and two ex­ec­u­tives from Save the Chil­dren in Lon­don will be at­tend­ing.”

Auc­tion prizes in­clude a hol­i­day at a villa in Lan­zarote and cor­po­rate en­ter­tain­ment at Mur­ray­field.
