‘ God of my Praise’ is the ti­tle of the Sal­va­tion Army ( Ayr Com­mu­nity Gospel Choir) show next month. It is be­ing staged on Sun­day, June 3, at 6pm in Troon Con­cert Hall, free ad­mis­sion.

Port­land Church’s an­nual gar­den­ing day will be held in the hall on Satur­day, May 26, from 10am- noon. There will be a se­lec­tion of peren­ni­als, veg­eta­bles, plugs, cut­tings and seedlings. Tea, cof­fee and home baking will be avail­able in the Port­land Cafe next door to the plant sale.

The May meet­ing of the As­tronomers of the Fu­ture Club will be held in the Rail­way Club, Har­bour Road, Troon, on Wed­nes­day, May 31, from 7.15pm to 9pm. The guest speaker is Chris O’Kane from the Astro­nom­i­cal So­ci­ety, Glas­gow, whose sub­ject is ‘ Jour­ney to Cy­do­nia: The First Small Step’.

Mu­si­cal Re­mem­brance Troon will cel­e­brate favourite songs from the past at The Cabin to­day from 1.30pm to 3pm.

The last meet­ing of Troon Flower Club was held on April 25 in Walker Hall. Pres­i­dent May Keir in­tro­duced Irene Parker from Hex­ham with ‘ My Flower World’. Irene en­ter­tained the au­di­ence with beau­ti­ful flow­ers of vi­brant colour with in­ter­est­ing fo­liage, con­tain­ers and lots of use­ful tips. Mem­bers and guests had a most en­ter­tain­ing even­ing.

Troon Flower Club ran a very suc­cess­ful work­shop in St Med­dans Church Hall on May 5. Eigh­teen mem­bers at­tended the work­shop and pro­duced a va­ri­ety of spec­tac­u­lar ar­range­ments. The next meet­ing is on May 30 in The Walker Hall. This is the AGM and the meet­ing will start at 7pm, with a demon­stra­tion at 7.30pm. The demon­stra­tor is

Chris­tian Aid Week ends on Fri­day. Lunches will be served in Troon Old Par­ish Church Hall on Wed­nes­day, Thurs­day and Fri­day from 11.30am un­til 1.30pm.

A re­gatta will be held on Troon South Beach on Satur­day, June 2, from 11am.

Tree­tops Ten­ants and Res­i­dents As­so­ci­a­tion AGM on May 17 has been can­celled due to un­fore­seen cir­cum­stances.

Ayr­shire Bus Users Group will hold their AGM in the Cabin on Satur­day, June 30, at 11am. A spokes­woman said: “More mem­bers are re­quired to sup­port this group and get changes to the bus timeta­bles, es­pe­cially in the Troon area. Bus ser­vices have been dec­i­mated in the past year and more than half of the town is cut off from di­rect ac­cess to Irvine.”
