Prestwick’s party of the summer is pledging to deliver its biggest ever bash.

Organisers of this year’s Prom event say they are ready to lay on their best show.

Thousands are expected to attend the party, due to be held this year on Saturday, August 11.

Entertainment will see a parade leading off from Sainsbury’s in the town from 11.30am, including Clydesdale horses and a motorcade of classic cars and bikes.

Samba band - “SambaYa Bamba” - will play Samba music on an open- top bus as it drives through the Main Street on the way to Boydfield Gardens.

The parade, along with any local groups and individuals wanting to join in, will then head for a day of fun on the Prom.

Special guest for the day is McCoo artist, Steven Brown, who will host a first ever Prom Auction at the seafront.

A funfair and Jurassic show are also set to be winners among the children.

Prom committee member, Norrie Smith, said: “The excitement is already building for this year’s event and it’s promising to be a fantastic day.

“If the last few years are anything to go by, we should be in for a treat and the event is growing in popularity with each passing year.

“We recently held a stall holders’ evening and most have already been booked with just a few spaces left.”

Music and entertainment on the day will be compered by Ayrshire favourite, Magic Malky.

Also available will be rides on Clydesdale horses, putting, Owl Magic, model boats, classic cars, motorbikes, army vehicles and food from a range of caterers and the Parkstone.
