Helldrivers

-

I think I must make mention of the deteriorating driving standards in Ayr, particularly up the Sandgate on the oneway system.

Since it was made a one- way system those drivers seem to think that they are on a racetrack with the speed they are travelling at, and cutting each other up when they are about to park next to the pavements.

One particular incident took place on the early afternoon of May 8 between 1.30pm and 2pm at the junction of Sandgate and Boswell Park, I was waiting to cross the road on the left hand side at the corner next to the Co- op to proceed along the street in the direction of Wellington Square.

Once the road was clear I started to cross the junction, I glanced to my right just as well when I noticed this black taxi sitting at the traffic lights on the other side of the street next to the West Kirk, with his indicator showing that he wished to turn left along Boswell Park.

I suspected that something was wrong here. He then made a right turn from the right hand side of the street to drive along Boswell Park cutting up the traffic waiting on the left hand side of the street for the lights to change to green. Just as well that I had returned to the corner next to the Co- op by this time to avoid being struck by him driving his taxi at speed.

Only an idiot would do a left turn such as this from the right hand side of a street into a left turning junction, I think that he needs to go back to the driving school for some more lessons.

It is obvious he does not know how and where to position his taxi at a road junction.

It is also obvious when starting to turn left from the right side of the Sandgate he run the red light at the pedestrian crossing there.

If he continues to drive his taxi like this in this careless manner he shall end up killing someone..
