Scrum on down to Weekender
Ayr Rugby Club has had some great times over the years on and off the pitch.
But get set this weekend for a scrum- full of laughs at the Land O’ Burns Weekender.
Thousands are set to flock to Millbrae in Alloway for two days of entertainment.
All profits will be ploughed back into community rugby in Ayr, funding a development office and several part- time coaches.
Volunteers have managed to pull out all the stops to put on a superb show this year - including raking out 400 tons of sand for beach rugby.
Children will have their own sandpit courtesy of another 100 tons.
It is the second time the club has mixed beach rugby with a beer festival.
The Friday night, tickets £ 6, features beach rugby late afternoon into the early evening.
But the main event is the entertainment provided from 7pm in the Las Vegas Marquee with performances by vintage crooner and guitar man “Just Like Eddie” and “Johhny Lee Memphis” as Elvis Presley.
On the Saturday is the Beer Festival which will include a prosecco and gin bar as well as hot food.
Families are encouraged to get the kids into the specially created sandpit and entertainer Silly Gilly can look after them while mum and dad get refreshed.
Attractions include a bouncy castle, big slide, fun rides, face painting, tattoos, hair braid/ colour, nail art, ice cream van.
The food court includes pizza, Indian street foods, a bakery and Renaldos ice cream.
Weekend tickets are £ 10, families £ 26. The event is being held under the Burns an’ a that! umbrella. Full line up.
